Seth's Birthday Pt. 1

Side note, I can't handle that he's going to be 7.

That being said, his school has today and Monday off so we celebrated yesterday with his class

And what better way to celebrate than with delicious doughnuts!

He didn't know I was coming so his teacher blindfolded him and brought him out.

Then we started singing happy birthday!

And his teacher spoiled him with a sweet card and CASH! Yes!

Yup, he's the birthday boy!

Yum!

Happy Birthday Doodles!

Another Week

Of lunch monitoring!

While it's not my favorite week (due to missing naps) it certainly is the kid's!
I can't blame them!

Our first day it rained so we had lunch inside so of course this happened.

Then some kind of leap frog/ crab walk thing happened.

That blur would be Ford.

Day two was a chilly hour outside.  Really mom, another day with these crazy kids?

Dodge ball time baby!

Isla and Julia

If you look closely you'll see the kid in the background that's climbing the tree with a rope.

And here's one trying to get to the roof. Yeah, they kept me busy.
Giving Fordy a ride!

Adorable Callie!

Mom, can we do this again next week?

Um... no! Is it nap time yet?!

Kindergarten Program

Seth's class put on a program earlier this week to show their parents what they learned this year.  They recited poetry, pledges, and the alphabet.

It was too cute!  What was not cute was Kane and Ford's behavior.  I had hoped they would be entertained enough watching their brother that they'd sit quietly.  Unfortunately that was not the case.  Ford was ready for a nap and made that known by throwing multiple fits when asked to do anything.  Then he and Kane began blowing raspberries at each other. It was a scene and with Isla in my arms there really wasn't much I could do about it.

Anyway, they also handed out memory books and a huge envelope filled with pictures of the year. It's nice to have a little glimpse into what went on while they were at school.

In the memory books are funny quotes from the kids. One of Seth's quotes was from the day after Isla was born.  Seth pointing to May 9th on the calendar told his class, "Baby Isla will be born every year in May on this day!"

Seth's class.

Holy Moses

For the end of school program last night, the boy's school put on a play/musical.

Usually only fifth graders and up get a part in the play (for maturity reasons) but they had a part that needed to be filled by someone small.

The director met with all the Kindergarteners (all 3 of them) and because Seth could follow instructions (the first time) he was given the part of Baby Moses!  We're so proud of him.

Evan was in the choir and despite his momma's attempts at distracting him, to make him smile, he was focused on his lyrics and hand motions!

All the kids did a fantastic job and it was a joy to watch!

First and Last

Today was the last day of school!  I took pictures of the boys on their way out the door so I could see how they've changed since their first day.

Seth on the first day of school.

Seth on the last day of school!

Evan on the first day of school.

Evan on the last day of school!

Both on the first.

Both on the last day!

They must love each other more now because I only have pictures of them hugging on the last day of school. :)

 Group shot on the first.

Group shot on the last.  Now Ford is old enough to join in, even if he really didn't want to and isn't dressed appropriately!

Hell Week

Surprisingly the title has very little to do with having a newborn!  This week is the last week of school for the boys, that means that the school is cramming final activities in like, well like its the end of the year.  Plus Jed went back to work today and I have doctor appointments for myself, Isla and Ford scheduled through out.  Ugh.

I don't know who's more excited about summer break the kids or me!

Although having a newborn makes things more complicated I couldn't ask for an easier baby!  She really only fusses when she's hungry or needs a diaper change.  She sleeps wonderfully at night waking up once between 11pm and 6am, she eats and goes back down without a problem.  Unlike her brothers she has taken to her pacifier happily, although I've caught her a couple times trying to suck her thumb and fingers.

Thanks for being so awesome baby girl!

Happy Birthday Evan!

Earlier this week while getting the boys ready for school, Jed asked Evan what he wanted for his birthday.  Evan responded with one simple word, "Food."  Later I asked him what "food" he wanted specifically for his birthday dinner to which he said, "CRAB, lots and lots of crab."

He and my dad would have gotten along really well.

That same day was his class birthday party. I brought in cupcakes and a few decorations.

A very special 7 year old!

Green is his favorite color and thankfully with a birthday so close to Christmas the bakery always has green cupcakes in stock!

While I wasn't looking someone took a big swipe of their big brother's frosting!

Yum!

Poor Kane, he took the lose well.

Boys and girls really are different. :)

Doodles enjoying his snowman cupcake!
