Hometown

We made it to Michigan last week . We spent the weekend in Dearborn at my Grandma's house before making our way to Grass Lake, the town I grew up in.

Tim Hortons for my morning coffee while in Dearborn.

I love this store!!

First mommy/Fordster date!

Kane and uncle Ron!

It was almost as hot in Michigan as Florida this weekend. To keep cool we had a water fight!

My grandma, her mom and sisters. I love this picture!

Road Trip Part 1

We made it to North Carolina yesterday afternoon! I left our house at 6am. I was pleasantly surprised when our first stop, just shy of 4 hours later, was south of Savannah at Micky D's for coffee and hotcakes! Then our next stop wasn't until we reached the North Carolina boarder at a little rest stop to eat our sandwiches for lunch. Unfortunately after that I got a little lost, well not exactly lost but off course when I missed an exit. Fortunately it only added about 15 minutes to our drive.

We're having a great time at Aunt Jessie and Uncle Nate's house! The boys love the big backyard, the lake and of course their cousins. I'm loving being spoiled by my sister in law who is cooking delicious meals for us! Thanks Jess! Its going to be hard to leave come Thursday but we're looking forward to time with nona and papa!

Movies and napping!

We made it!

Lunch surrounded by geese!

Ford was ready for a nap!

Baby Grey!

I missed it but Ford was giving Grey the sweetest hugs soon after arriving.

Day at the lake!

Lunch! Love these two boys!

Alright I'm exhausted. Good night!

Adios

Tomorrow I'm loading the 4 boys into the van and we're heading north.

I think I'm still in denial.

Our first stop is at my sister in law's house in NC, 8 hours away.

I've lost my mind!

Two days or so later we'll say goodbye to them and move onto Jed's parent's house in PA, another 8 hours!

My back is aching just thinking about it.

After a quick visit with them we're on to our final destination, Michigan, to visit with my mom!

This will be her first time meeting Ford.

This is all very last minute but I hope to fit in a visit with other friends and family, including my grandma!

I'm trying to focus on all the great people we're going to see to get me through all the driving!

YIKES!

New Bed!!

A few years ago for Christmas I gave Jed a gift card to Lowes and plans for a toddler bunk bed. He made an amazing set and they've served us well but now the big boys have basically out grown them and the little boys aren't quite big enough to use them. So I started scouting craigslist for something that might meet our needs. I found this,

A full size bed on top, desk and dresser in the middle and a trundle bed on the bottom! Perfect! Kane sleeps on the trundle while Evan and Seth share the top. I love that the three older boys can all share a room.

On a side note, the lady we bought this bed from had three boys, 9, 5, and 2 years old who all insisted on sharing the same bed so they slept on the twin trundle! I hope my boys are that close someday! :)

On another side note, without me even having to ask, Evan made the beds after I told him I was going to take pictures of their new bed. I don't know where he gets it from.

An added bonus is the fort in the back.

Isnt that cool!

They love their new bed!

Usually those stuffed animals would be strewn about their room but again, Evan set them all up for the pictures. I need him to organize my pantry!

We're moving the twin bunk bed into the other bedroom with Ford who is now in a pack in play in there.

What can I say, we like to play musical beds around here!

Fireworks

Yesterday afternoon we stopped by one of those fireworks tents to pick out some to do in our backyard. This was a great decision on our parts for 2 reason,

1. The guy running the tent gave us a great price on a big pack and even threw in some free individual fountains. He didn't want to pack them up for another year! Sometimes procrastination works out for the best!

2. Is summed up in a quote by Seth after we lit one of the fountains: "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!! YEAH!" While pumping his fist in the air.

Breathtaking huh?! Apparently my 5 year old thinks so! :)

The sunset was lovely though!

The Summer Of Silence

That's in reference to my blog not so much my life.

I don't think I've experienced actual silence in years.

Anyway, its time to end my blogging silence.

I dont have a whole lot to say though as life is pretty status quo.

In the last 2 weeks or so Seth has been brave enough to ditch his floaties in the pool. He's actually a fairly strong swimmer. Evan when he first started swimming looked more like he was drowning than swimming and it took forever for him to make any distance. Seth is faster w/ less thrashing.

Ford does not want to walk. He's as content as can be to crawl everywhere and resists any encouragement otherwise. He also still naps at least twice a day and sleeps sooo long at night. He's a such the "baby" of the family (at least for now :)).

We wont be going to our city's fireworks tonight. Why you ask? Kane is terrified of them(among other things). Last night I took the three older boys for an after dark swim. Just as we got in the pool a neighbor shot off one of the big fireworks above us. Kane lost it. We're talking epic meltdown. I lost some of my hearing from the screaming and got a few bruise while trying to give him a comforting hug. I'm not looking to repeat that little episode so we'll stay home for the third year in a row. :(

Fortunately for us though our neighbors usually put on a great show.

And to make it up to our boys Jed took them out on their first bike ride.

He's been waiting a long time for this!

Sethy's turn!

Kane has a long list of fears and since motorcycles are on that list he definitely wasn't going on a ride and would only come out of the house while the bike was gone.

Pure joy!

Happy 4th of July!
