First Smiles

Seth smiled for the first time yesterday!  He was laying on the changing table and I was talking to him and he smiled.  After that whenever he was awake I tried to get more smiles but he was not so easily amused.  I eventually got the picture above after 15 minutes of making funny faces and talking in an extremely high voice but he spent most of the time giving me the look in the picture below.

Dedication

This is a picture of Seth's dedication on Saturday.  Here's what his certificate says, "Seth Nicholas has been dedicated to the Lord by his parents Jed and Laine who promise with the help of God to bring him up in the training and instruction of the Lord"   Its overwhelming sometimes to think about the responsiblity of raising two little boys into godly men but I know God is in control and I can rest in that.
We had a long night last night, Seth woke up more than usual.   This is us taking a nap after his morning feeding.

Hot Tubs and the Beach

Last night everyone hung out in the hot tub after the guys fixed the leak in the pump.  Fun times!
Then today we headed to Daytona beach.  It was interesting with two kids but Evan had so much fun and we had fun watching him.

Visitors and Haircuts

Grandma and Grandpa Cusi are here visiting for the week and Evan enjoyed having breakfast with them this morning.
I also shaved the rest of Evan's hair off today, he looks like a big boy now :)

Seth's First Bath

Seth's umblical cord fell off so we could finally give him a real bath.  He seemed to like it, he didnt squirm or cry at all.
After tomorrow our house is going to be pretty empty.  My sister Tracy is moving out and we're giving one of our dogs (Ally) to Jed's sister in Grand Rapids.   We're sad to give her up but two dogs and two babies are a lot of work.  Also our new house and backyard are a lot smaller and the dogs dont get to burn off their energy.   It is a total myth that if you have 2 dogs they'll entertain each other and not need you as much.  Having a second dog just means theres another animal that wants your attention.  Jessie, I hope Ally works out for you guys!  We'll miss her.

Hammock and Temper Tantrums

My sisters bought me a hammock for my birthday, and Jed finally had time this weekend to put it up.  It was actually cool enough this weekend to sit outside and enjoy it.  Unfortunately this week it is going back up into the 90s and I probably wont be able to use my hammock again until the fall :(
I dont know if its just a phase or having a new little brother but Evan's has changed.  He's much more demanding these days.  Today he wanted a cookie and when I said no he threw himself on the ground and screamed.  If this is a phase I'm hoping it doesnt last too long.
